The Chicago White Sox stadium is less than 10 minutes from the conference venue, McCormick Place, Chicago. Wrigley Field is 20-30 minutes away. You will have to arrive a few days early to the conference to watch the White Sox and Astros play on the Friday and Saturday before the conference. The Cubs play the Giants for a three game homestand during the conference. Monday and Tuesday are night games.

2025 Nonprofit Organizations Conference, May 19-20

The only way to watch this in-state rivalry between the Astros and Rangers is to arrive to the conference a few days early. The Rangers and Astros play 4 games starting on Thursday, May 15th and ending on Sunday, May 18th. The day before the start of the conference.

2025 Federal Tax Course – Level 1, May 19-23

Atlanta Braves vs San Diego Padres, May 23-25, 2025

This intensive, week-long federal tax course is being offered by the Tax Executives Institute. The conference hotel is about 15-20 minutes from the Braves stadium, Truist Park. The Braves play a 3 game series vs the San Diego Padres starting on Friday night, so you will have to stay after the conference to watch any of the games.

The Nationals play 3 night games against Braves. If you stay in town over the Memorial Day weekend, you can also watch the Nationals when they play 3 games vs the San Francisco Giants.

The promotion at the Monday night game is a Fernando Tatis Jr bobblehead to the first 40,000 fans.

GFOA 119th Annual Conference 2025, June 29 – July 2

Freedom Fireworks will be after the Thursday night game. If you can stay in the city until the weekend, the Nationals play the Boston Red Sox for 3 games which includes the July 4th Independence Day game on Friday at 11am.

Both games have an alcohol themed promotion so it is probably a good that hotel is within walking distance.
